New Delhi: On an unscheduled visit this morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi and paid tribute to Guru Teg Bahadur for his supreme sacrifice.
According to sources, during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Gurudwara Rakabganj, there was no police bandobast and no traffic barrier for the common man.

The construction of Gurudwara Rakabganj marks the site of the cremation of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh guru, after he achieved martyrdom in November 1675 for saving the Hindu pandites of Kashmir.
The mortal remains of Guru Tegh Bahadur, the ninth Sikh Guru, were consigned to the flames at Gurdwara Rakabganj.
The prime minister’s visit to one of the most popular gurudwaras among devotees in the national capital takes on significance as it comes at a time when farmers, especially from Punjab, are protesting against the three agricultural laws enacted by their government.
Modi has gone to great lengths to explain the benefits of agricultural reforms, often reassuring farmers that the existing government mechanism to support them, including the minimum support price and agricultural mandis, will continue, PTI reported.
No police bandobast or traffic barrier for the common man
On Saturday, the All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee wrote letters addressed to Prime Minister Modi and Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, stating that the ongoing farmer protests are not affiliated with any political party.
In separate letters in Hindi to Modi and Tomar, the AIKSCC said that the government is wrong to assume that the agitation of farmers against the three agricultural laws is being engineered by opposition parties.
This open letter comes a day after the prime minister accused opposition parties of misleading farmers about the three farm laws.
