New Delhi:
Former Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena told the Delhi High Court on Thursday that she has not faced any discrimination based on her gender in the Indian Air Force.
She maintained that the Air Force gave her the opportunity to serve the nation, including in the Kargil War, and she will always be grateful for the opportunities the force affords her.

Ms. Saxena, in her affidavit presented to Judge Rajiv Shakdher, clarified that the film is not a documentary, but is only inspired by her life and is clear from the two disclaimers placed at the beginning of the film that gives a message to motivate young women. to join the IAF.
“The Complainant (Saxena) does not claim that everything that is shown in the film happened to her in her real life. However, the declarant believes that the message that the film seeks to convey is to motivate young women to join the Indian Air Force and, in a broader context, the goal is to inspire young women to pursue their dreams, not doubt themselves and work hard towards their goals, “she said in the affidavit submitted to through advocate Aditya Dewan.
He added that while he has no control over the exercise of “creative freedoms” during the making of the film, “it remains a fact that with regard to the deponent, at the institutional level, the deponent has not faced any discrimination.” based on your gender. Rather, the IAF gave declarant the opportunity to serve the nation, including in the Kargil War. “
The retired officer said she has the utmost respect for the IAF and cannot comment on the Force Center’s perception of the film in question, as everyone’s perception is different.
The high court had previously issued notices and requested a response from Dharma Productions Private Limited, which produced the film, its directors Karan Yash Johar and Hiroo Yash Johar, CEO Apporva Mehta, Zee Entertainment, film director Sharan Sharma, Netflix Entertainment Services India LLP, M / s Netflix and Gunjan Saxena in the Center’s lawsuit to remove the movie from all OTT platforms.
