Follow physical distancing and hand and respiratory hygiene, wear masks, gargle with warm water added with a pinch of turmeric and salt, the guidelines say.
The document emphasizes the use of triphala or yashtimadhu to gargle. Medicinal oil, cow ghee, or coconut oil, he says, can be used for nasal instillation. Inhalation of steam using ajwain or eucalyptus oil, moderate physical activity, sleep for up to six hours, and yoga for primary prevention and then post-Covid management are among the guidelines mentioned in the document. “Drink warm water with boiled herbs like ginger, coriander, basil, and cumin. Drink turmeric milk and Ayush Kadha or Kwath, ”the guidelines say.

In asymptomatic cases of COVID-19, “Guduchi Ghana Vati, Samshamani Vati or Giloy Vati with aqueous extract of Tinospora Cordifolia IP or Tinospora powder” can be used. Guduchi and Pippali have shown to have an improved recovery rate, says the government. Ayush 64 can also be used for mild cases of COVID-19. These medications must be prescribed by a registered Ayurvedic physician, as per the guidelines.
Dr Harshvardhan, the Union Health Minister, had previously reported to Parliament on an “AYUSH R&D Interdisciplinary Working Group” that had formulated and designed clinical research protocols for prophylactic studies of AYUSH and complementary interventions in positive cases. of COVID-19. The minister informed the Chamber that AYUSH-CSIR collaborative studies with AYUSH drugs for prophylaxis / treatment were initiated and that a large-scale population study through the AYUSH Research Councils and the National Institutes of the Ministry on the prophylaxis of AYUSH interventions in specific populations in containment zones were underway.
