Google has started testing its Homework buddy application in India. Currently, the application is available in beta version on Google Play store, the application will allow users to earn money in exchange for completing certain tasks. Users will have to complete tasks such as taking a photo of store fronts, recording a spoken phrase, confirming certain store details, or transcribing phrases posted by companies. Tasks can be completed from anywhere in the world and at any time. However, Google will give users a time frame to complete a certain task. Users will also have the ability to choose tasks of their liking and skip the unwanted ones.
According to a report of 9to5Google, the beta test was first detected by a Reddit user. Google will allow users to have money in the denomination of their own country. A task will undergo review and users will receive certain levels after its completion to properly award their reward. While there are two broad divisions for tasks: sitting or field tasks, Google can also specifically request tasks. As seen in the description of the application, the application will work in three basic steps: find nearby tasks, complete tasks to start earning, and collect the winnings.
The problem here is that the app is still in beta and new users will only be able to join if they have the referral codes. As it is in the beta version, Homework buddy It is currently limited to select testers and Google in the app description also advises users to install the app only if they have the referral code which can only be obtained through invites.
This is very similar to Rewards application from Google that allows users to earn money answering survey questions. But here the reward is credited in the Play Store currency.
