Good news for Suresh Raina; CSK not parting with him

Mumbai: In the midst of trouble, there is good news for Suresh Raina. The embattled former Indian batsman will not be abandoned by him Super Kings of Chennai team in the next year Indian Premier League (IPL).

It means that he has been saved from tension if any franchise will be interested in him after the Dubai hotel incident that led to him exiting IPL 13. Reports say that Raina was kicked out by the franchise for alleged disciplinary issues, although the official reason quoted was ‘personal’.

A franchise officer confirmed
Mirror on Wednesday that the team seeks to have him on board for the next edition. “He will be with us. There are no plans to part with him, “said a senior CSK management official.
Mirror. There will likely only be one mini auction before the next IPL.

The franchise official was obviously reacting to the news of Raina’s arrest for breaking the night curfew in Mumbai on Monday. The player was later released on bail. He said he was not aware of local schedules and protocols. “We have only read about the arrest. Our plans have nothing to do with that development. He will continue to be with us, ”said the franchise official.

Raina, a veteran of the IPL, has been with CSK since its inception in 2008 and was out of Chennai for two years when the franchise was suspended from the tournament in 2016 and 2017.

Raina has played more than 160 games for the Chennai team and scored more than 4,500 runs and was part of all of CSK’s glory days: three times champions, six times runners-up and a fourth time. Coincidence or not, the team failed to qualify for the play-offs for the first time this year, when it was not part of the campaign. He finished seventh, having won just six of his 14 league games.

Raina, 33, who retired from international Cricket earlier this year, he said he will represent Uttar Pradesh at the Mushtaq Ali Twenty20 tournament in January.
