Australia’s all-rounder Glenn Maxwell apologized to his IPL teammate KL Rahul during his whirlwind against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Friday.
Maxwell’s innovative bag of shots contributed to the limits of reverse sweeps and wrist movements before he went out for 45 of 19 balls, caught deep in Shami after hitting five limits and three sixes.
However, a few weeks ago, playing for the IPL Kings XI Punjab franchise, Maxwell was in a bad mood as he struggled for scores. In 11 innings, the Australian scored 108 runs with an average of 15.42 and a forgettable strike rate of 101.88.
What was most surprising was that he failed to hit a single six during the entire competition.
But in Sydney, he returned to his best level helping Australia 374/6 on the board. It was probably his open stance that helped him execute the expansive punches, hitting five fours and three sixes.
One day after the game, Maxwell joked online with fellow KXIP player Jimmy Neesham-
I apologized while I was hitting 😂 🦁 🙏 #friends ❤️

Australia returned to international cricket in September with a victory in the ODI series in England against the World Cup champions. However, for Kohli’s lineup in India, it was a first test of international cricket since losing in New Zealand in March.
