The Indian army on Friday released a video of a counterterrorism operation in Jammu and Kashmir where a terrorist can be seen surrendering to security forces. “Jahangir, we ask you to drop your weapons and surrender. We have cordoned off the place where he is hiding. I assure you that nothing will happen to them, ”Army personnel are heard saying the terrorist three times.
“Give up for the love of God, for the good of your family,” said the soldier. As soon as the terrorist, identified as Jahangir Bhat, began to move, the soldiers in the operation can be heard saying to each other: “No one will shoot.”
“Is there anyone else? Is there a weapon? Come this way ”, the soldiers are heard saying as the terrorist comes out of his hiding place dressed only in pants.
Give it water. Keep some distance. Please be still. Put down your shirt. Nothing will happen to you. He has done a great job, ”the soldiers calm Jahangir as he walks towards the security forces and then sits across from them.
In another video, security forces can be seen interacting with Jahangir’s father, who touched their feet to save his son.
“Tell your child that he has done a great job. All your past mistakes will be forgotten. But don’t let him go back to the terrorists, ”a security person told the father.
Jahangir Bhat, a 31-year-old merchant, disappeared on October 13 from Chadoora. His family was trying to locate him. On Friday he was detained with an AK rifle, the Army said.
On Friday morning, a fierce shooting broke out between security forces and terrorists in Chadoora, following which mobile internet service in Budgam was suspended. Following the joint operation, internet service was restored.
