IPL 2020 Live Score, KKR vs DC Today's match in Abu Dhabi: Gill leaves early for 9

IPL 2020 Live Score, KKR vs DC Today’s match in Abu Dhabi – IPL 2020 live score KKR 22-1: Now Rabada enters the attack. Surprisingly, Rabada hasn’t gotten a wicket in the entire tournament in powerplays. Still a decent about Rabada here.

The Kolkata Knight Riders are at No. 4 with 5 wins and the same number of losses in 10 games, but they have the worst net run rate of the tournament. The capitals of Delhi have won 7 of their 10 matches and are sitting at the top of the table. Prithvi Shaw’s 66 of 41 balls and Shreyas Iyer’s 88 of 38 balls helped DC to 228 of 4 in Sharjah, in the first meeting between the two teams in the tournament. Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi staged a late comeback for KKR, but they were ultimately left with 18 short races.

Last meeting in 2019: Shubman Gill’s 65 of 39 balls and Andre Russell’s 45 of 21 balls helped KKR to 178 of 7 in their assigned 20 overs on April 12, 2019 at Eden Gardens. It was expected to be a difficult chase, but Shikhar Dhawan had other plans. The Indian southpaw hammered an undefeated 97 in just 63 deliveries to lead the Capitals to a complete 7-wicket victory with more than a surplus to spare.

Sunil Narine has been between the grounds in the KKR vs DC battle – he has 17 grounds in such encounters. Interestingly, it is Shoaib Akhtar who has the best bowling figures in the rivalry: he came back with 4-11 in 3 overs at Eden Gardens in the inaugural edition in 2008. Akhtar ran through the higher order of Daredevils ditching Sehwag, Gambhir, AB and Manoj Tiwary in the powerplay. KKR defended 133 and cleared Daredevils for 110.

Prithvi Shaw has had a string of low scores in the second half of IPL 2020, but has the highest hit rate of 163.94 in KKR-DC matchups.

Last meeting: Prithvi Shaw’s 66 of 41 balls and Shreyas Iyer’s undefeated 88 of 38 balls helped DC to a whopping 228 of 4 in their allotted 20 overs, the highest score of any rival team against KKR in any edition of the IPL! ! Nitish Rana, Eoin Morgan and Rahul Tripathi kept KKR in pursuit, but they were always behind in the pursuit and they ultimately came up with 19 short races.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR has lost momentum in the second half of the tournament. They have lost three of their last four games and seem to fall apart under pressure. They were restricted to a measly 84 for 8 against RCB, their second lowest score in a full inning of IPL! Hitting is KKR’s big problem. Except for Shubman Gill, none of KKR’s hitters have been consistent in scoring runs in the tournament. The failure of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell with the bat, KKR’s two important all-rounders, has been a major blow to the franchise this edition. Russell has scored just 92 runs in 8 innings with a strike rate of 131.42 in the tournament. Narine, at 163.65, has the second highest strike rate in IPL history (minimum 500 runs) after Russell, but has managed to add just 44 runs in 5 innings with a strike rate of 110 in this tournament. KKR also has a problem with his running speed in competition. None of his hitters have a strike rate of more than 140 in the tournament.

There is not much to note in the bowling department either. The two big shots, Pat Cummins and Narine, have been poor in this IPL. The Australian has just managed to choose 3 fields from 10 games. Varun Chakravarthy has been his most impressive bowler with an economy rating of just 7.27. Lockie Ferguson has added some zeal to the attack in recent games and has also been very economical. KKR would expect a great performance from the New Zealander.

Capitals of Delhi

The only thing DC needs to protect itself from is complacency. They have a very balanced unit with most bases covered. Shikhar Dhawan has been in devastating form since his transformation from hoarder to aggressor, he is now the second-highest rider at IPL 2020 with 465 runs in 10 matches, including two hundred. He has also scored his runs at a pace just as his strike rate of 149.03 indicates. Prithvi Shaw’s form will be of some concern to the Capitals after starting the tournament with a bang, he has now posted single-digit scores of 4, 0, 0, 7 in the last four matches. DC would also expect Rishabh Pant to fire at some point, it has been a patch of their best destructive level with an attack rate of just 125.

Kagiso Rabada is the top wicket bearer of IPL 2020 with 21 wickets from 10 matches. Anrich Nortje, with 12 wickets, has played a brilliant supporting role surprising hitters with his speed and accuracy, while Axar Patel with a 5.74 economy rating has been phenomenally restrictive.
