HYDERABAD: Telangana Prime Minister and TRS Chairman K Chandrashekhar announced on Monday that his government would provide free water supply up to 20,000 liters starting in December if the power is voted on.
On top of that, TRS said it would provide free power to Dhobi salons, laundries and ghats starting in December and exempt motor vehicle tax for six months between March and September.
“After Delhi, Hyderabad is receiving such a scheme. Starting in December, free drinking water will be provided up to 20,000 liters per month. It will benefit 97 percent of the people living in the city,” the CM said, posting the manifesto of his party GHMC surveys.
Elections for the civic body will be held on December 1 for 150 divisions.
The Delhi government led by Arvind Kejriwal has already been providing free water to people who consume up to 20,000 liters a month.
“About 97 percent of the city’s population will benefit from the free water supply starting in December. Those who consume more than 20,000 liters a month have to pay the bills, “said Rao.
While the state government has already provided subsidies to hair salons, it has now promised to supply free power to hair salons and laundries across the state.
The prime minister said the measure would benefit the most backward classes.
Coming to the rescue of industrial units and commercial establishments, the head of TRS said that he would waive the minimum demand energy bill for a period of six months starting in September, as shops and commercial industries suffered due to the pandemic of the coronavirus.
KCR added that the motor vehicle tax will be waived for six months, from March to September this year, and said more than three lakh of vehicles will benefit from the decision.
At the request of Tollywood movie personalities, producers and exhibitors, the TRS chief said the state government would remove restrictions on the number of shows per day and increase ticket rates for movies.
“The state government has been collecting about nine percent (total 18% GST) on film production. Now, films produced within the budget of Rs 10 crore can reimburse the state GST, ”said KCR.
