Gerard Piqué sends a message to Barcelona after leaving the Champions League

Gerard Piqué may not have been able to play for Barcelona against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday, but he was still thinking about his teammates.

The center-back missed the trip to France due to a knee injury, but could not hide his pride in his team’s performance at the Parc des Princes.

The return leg ended 1-1, but the score doesn’t tell the true story of the game, as the visitors created enough chances to win comfortably.

Piqué took to Twitter after the game to urge his teammates to follow despite his latest European outing. He wrote: “What a fantastic game. Playing so well deserves great credit after the result of the first leg. I am proud of my team and my teammates. There is much to compete this season and we will continue to do so until the end. With our heads held high and let’s keep it up. Go!”

Sergi Roberto, another player to lose through injury, also had some words of support for his teammates. He wrote: “Proud of this team! We have 2 titles left and we will give everything like today! Today and always, long live Barça !! “

Barça have a little break now before returning to action. The Catalan giants do not play again until Monday when they face bottom Huesca in La Liga at the Camp Nou.

It seems unlikely that Piqué will return for that game, but there is hope that Ronald Araujo may be fit and available after being sidelined again recently.
