The former cricket player of India’s Gautam Gambhir said he would pick Sachin Tendulkar over Virat Kohli in the ODIs format. India legend Tendulkar retired from all forms of cricket in 2013, with numerous recorded logs to your name. He remains the only cricketer to register 100 international hundreds of people. Kohli, so far, has registered the 27 Test tons and 43 ODI hundreds, and many believe that you can get to match with Tendulkar massive feat.
Gambhir, however, collects Tendulkar when asked between the two cricket greats of Star Sports show Cricket Connected. “Sachin Tendulkar, because, probably, with a white ball, and four field players inside the circle, not with five field players from outside, it will be Sachin Tendulkar for me. It is difficult, because Virat Kohli has done phenomenally well but I think the rules have changed, which has helped a lot of new batsmen,” he explains.

Gambhir added that the modern-day cricket has become more easy for the batsman that was during Tendulkar era. “The new generation, with two new balls, no reverse swing, nothing for the finger to turn, five fielders inside the 50 overs, probably, that makes batting a lot easier.
“Look at how Sachin Tendulkar has played, different rules, the time of 230 to 240, was an overall winner. I am probably going to go with Sachin Tendulkar if you look at the longevity and the flow of the one-day cricket format,” he said.

Meanwhile, despite Kohli is considered as the face of the modern-day cricket, there was a time when he could not do it in the cricket team. In a chat with India captain of the football team, Sunil Chhetri on Instagram-Live, India, the captain recalled the time when his father refused to pay bribe for selection in the state team. Kohli revealed that his father was asked to do an ‘extra’ for his selection, but his father Prem refused to do so, saying that his son’s selection will be made on the basis of merit.
“In the state of cricket… sometimes things happen that are not exactly fair… On one occasion, a certain someone is not the rules of the game when it came to the selection criteria,” said Kohli Chhetri. “He told my father when I had the merit, a little more (bribery) was needed to confirm that,” he added.
