In the latest development in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has summoned a Goa-based businessman in connection with his money laundering investigation.
Gaurav Arya, who runs a hotel in the coastal state, was asked to depose himself to the central investigative agency at its office in the Ballard Estate area of Mumbai on August 31. The summons stayed at his property in Goa because the agency was unable to contact him, he reported.

Arya is being called after the emergency department found some mobile phone messages reportedly sent to her by the actor and Rajput’s partner, Rhea Chakraborty, in 2017, allegedly indicating a discussion about certain prohibited narcotics.
The ED has also hinted to the Bureau of Narcotics Control (NCB) about these alleged drug-related chats and the anti-narcotics agency is now investigating these leads.
According to the news agency
PTI, the NCB is expected to convene in the near future several people listed in the “WhatsApp Conversations” that were obtained by the ED of two Rhea mobile phones after forensic cloning.
Rhea is expected to be called up to the NCB grid later.
The ED case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) stems from an FIR filed by Rajput’s father on July 25 before the Bihar Police in Patna against Rhea, his father, his mother Sandhya Chakraborty, his brother Showik, the manager of Rajput, Samuel Miranda and Shruti. Modi and unknown persons, accusing them of cheating and inciting her son’s suicide.
Rajput’s father has also alleged financial irregularities in his complaint to the police.
