Gasoline and diesel prices were cut on Tuesday (March 30) by the oil trading companies (OMC). The state OMCs have reduced the prices of gasoline and diesel by 22 countries and 23 countries, respectively.
The price of gasoline in New Delhi currently stands at ₹90.56 per liter vs ₹90.78 on Monday, while diesel is available for ₹80.87 per liter compared to ₹81.10 price yesterday, showed the website of the state oil refinery Indian Oil Corporation (IOL).
The revised gasoline and diesel rates in Mumbai stand at ₹96.98 per liter and ₹87.96 per liter respectively.
People in Calcutta will have to pay ₹90.77 per liter of gasoline. A liter of diesel costs ₹83.75, 23 paise less than the price of Monday.
In Chennai, gasoline became 19 paise cheaper on Tuesday and is sold at ₹92.58 per liter, while diesel prices fell to 85.88 rupees, 22 paise less than yesterday’s price of ₹86.10 the liter.
Gasoline rates in other major cities are – Noida ( ₹88.91), Bangalore ( ₹93.59), Hyderabad ( ₹94.16), Jaipur ( ₹97.08), Lucknow ( ₹88.85) and Patna ( ₹92.89), according to the data on the IOL website.
Diesel prices in other major cities are – Noida ( ₹81.33), Bangalore ( ₹85.75), Hyderabad ( ₹88.20), Jaipur ( ₹89.35), Lucknow ( ₹81.27) and Patna ( ₹86.12).
Gasoline and diesel rates are normally revised daily in accordance with international reference prices and currency exchange rates.
National fuel prices vary from state to state due to value added tax or VAT. The OMCs (Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum) align domestic fuel prices with world benchmarks taking into account any changes in currency exchange rates.
Any changes in gasoline and diesel prices will be implemented starting at 6 a.m. every day.
