Ganguly’s further treatment plan to be discussed Monday: Hospital – cricket


The Chairman of the Cricket Control Board in India (BCCI), Sourav Ganguly, had an “uneventful last night” and the medical board will meet on Monday to discuss the further treatment plan, Woodlands Hospital said in a medical bulletin.

He also said that the treating doctors are “constantly vigilant” about his health situation and taking appropriate measures from time to time.

The former captain of India was hospitalized at 1:00 pm on Saturday with “chest discomfort, heaviness in the head, vomiting and dizziness” while exercising in the home gym at around 11 am. After this, the doctors had performed an angioplasty.

The hospital also said that the “routine ECG performed at 10 am is satisfactory.” On Saturday, Ganguly was tested for the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which turned out to be negative.

Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Woodlands Hospital on Saturday night.

When interacting with the media while leaving the hospital, Banerjee had said: “He (Ganguly) is fine now, he even spoke to me. I thank the doctors and the hospital authorities for making the right decision to perform an angioplasty ”.

“I had no idea that international athletes like him should not undergo checkups. I asked Avishek Dalmiya to carry out medical check-ups on the cricketers before the games, ”he said.

On Wednesday, Ganguly visited Eden Gardens and discussed preparations for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy with the President of the Bengal Cricket Association (CAB), Avishek Dalmia.
