The Galaxy S21 series has been the subject of countless rumors and leaked 3D renders so far, but while these assets have been essential in unraveling the mystery surrounding Samsung’s next flagship, they look nothing like the latest hands-on video.
YouTube channel called Random things 2 has posted the following hands-on video featuring the Galaxy S21 +, model number SM-G996U. The video is mostly focused on the benchmark results, but it also talks a bit about how the device handles photography and offers a short preview of the rear panel.
The latter looks exactly as you’d expect given the recent leaked renders. The camera bulge is aligned with the top and side edges of the device and accommodates three cameras. The back panel is matte black and presumably plastic. The Infinity-O screen is flat. It does not have the right and left edges around the phone, and the physical buttons are located on the right edge.
Samsung may have more work to do on the camera
The source claims that photography with the Galaxy S21 + is not great due to the color saturation. Blues and greens are reported to stand out too much, however no sample shots were provided and we cannot be sure of these results.
More importantly, the Galaxy S21 + unit seen in the video might not be running the latest firmware and the final product could tell a completely different story regarding mobile photography.
As for the benchmark results, this is the Galaxy S21 + variant powered by the Snapdragon 888 chipset and it returned 1115 and 3326 points in the Geekbench single-core and multi-core tests, respectively, which is more than the one got. base model of the Galaxy S21 last week. .
