More than a year after he allegedly founded his own ‘Hindu sovereign nation’ called Kailaasa, the self-described fugitive god Nithyananda has started issuing special 3-day visas for tourists. To visit the mysterious island nation, Kailaasa visa holders will need to travel from Australia aboard a recently launched private chartered flight service ‘Garuda’, Nithyananda announced in a recent video.

The controversial ‘man god’, who fled India to escape arrest in a rape trial in 2019, urged visitors to stay in the ‘country’ for no more than three days, during which they will be allowed a ‘ Darshan ‘from’ Param Shiva ‘.

“Today, you can start applying for the Kailaasa visa. You have to get to Australia on your own. From Australia, Kailaasa has its own chartered flight services, ”he said in a video broadcast from his official Facebook page. “Please do not ask for a visa for more than 3 days. Kailaasa can accommodate anyone for only three days for now. “

The man of god said that all visitors will receive free food and lodging during the course of their stay. While travelers will have to make their own arrangements to get to Australia, airfare to and from Kailaasa will be covered by the Nithyananda organization, he added.

Nithyananda, who founded a Hindu religious group called ‘Nithyananda Dhyanapeetam’, has been the subject of controversy regularly. He has been accused of rape and also of kidnapping and illegal confinement of children in his ashram.

In 2019, he was booked after a Tamil Nadu couple accused him of kidnapping their children and keeping them at their ashram in Ahmedabad. He was accused of kidnapping and improper confinement of children to make them collect donations from his followers. He was also accused of kidnapping and torturing a 19-year-old woman.

Later that year, Gujarat police announced that they had fled the country after failing to appear in more than 50 hearings.

Even when the Indian authorities continued their pursuit to catch him, Nithyananda allegedly founded the ‘nation’ last year. There is much speculation as to whether Kailaasa is, in fact, an actual nation with physical territory.

Its official website claims that it is a “borderless nation created by dispossessed Hindus from all over the world who lost the right to authentically practice Hinduism in their own countries.” It is known as the “largest digital Hindu nation in the world”.

It even has its own government, with departments of health, education, commerce, information transmission, and even “enlightened civilization.” Nithyananda is known as the ‘High Pontiff’ of Kailasa.

In August, Nithyananda unveiled the new central bank and Kailaasa’s newly minted currency called ‘Kailashian dollars’. He announced that he had even drafted a 300-page economic policy, setting out the economic strategy of his so-called nation. He also claimed that his country had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with another nation to host its bank.
