Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh admitted to AIIMS

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, 87, entered the Institute of Indian Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi on May 10 at night with a complaint of chest pain. He is under observation in the cardio-thoracic room, said a hospital source.

The source said that Dr. Singh was taken around 8.45 p.m. and that it is stable. He is being cared for by a team of doctors.

The two-term prime minister previously underwent two heart bypass surgeries. To date, Dr. Singh has maintained an active life, and recently addressed a press conference with the President of Congress, Sonia Gandhi.

When the news came out, several leaders expressed concern for his health and wished him a speedy recovery.

Rajasthan Prime Minister Ashok Gehlot said: “Very concerned to learn that former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh ji has been admitted to AIIMS. I wish him a speedy recovery and I pray for his good health and long life. “

The main leader of the Congress, Ahmed Patel, tweeted: “Praying for the good health of doctor saheb. We are confident that you will be fit and well as soon as possible.

RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav also tweeted: “I saw the news that Dr. Manmohan Singh ji was admitted to the hospital. My sincere prayers for the speedy recovery of Manmohan Singh ji, the humble, intelligent, learned, true gentleman and one of the best PM “.

Her son and RJD chief Tejashvi Yadav said: “Looking forward to the prompt recovery of respected Dr. ManmohanSingh ji.”

Dr. Singh is one of the main leaders of the opposition Congress and currently represents Rajasthan in the Upper House of Parliament. He was prime minister between 2004 and 2014.

In 2009, Dr. Singh underwent successful coronary bypass surgery at AIIMS.
