Mumbai: Maharashtra’s former prime minister and current PWD minister Ashok Chavan on Sunday tested positive for the coronavirus. This is the second case in the Maharashtra government with a high NCP leader before contracting the virus in the month of April.
Previously, a senior NCP leader had been infected and had been in self-quarantine after some of the helpers and security personnel were found to be Covid-19 positive. A local report stated that the minister was moved to a private hospital after he began having trouble breathing.

This was the eighth day in a row, when the state reported that more than 2,000 new cases of coronavirus, he said.
