Former IAS officer and Tamil Nadu Chief Information Technology Secretary Santhosh Babu joined Kamal Haasan’s political party Makkal Needhi Maiam in Chennai on Tuesday. The famous Tamil Nadu painting belongs to the 1995 group and voluntarily retired earlier this year, despite having many years left in its service.

Kamal Haasan provided Babu with the MNM membership card and appointed him party secretary general, central office. The former official would be responsible for the management of IT, Data, Research, policies and electoral manifesto.

“I am happy to join MNM, which is sensible, democratic and works for the elevation of a common man. This is the only honest party that wants to bring about a change in Tamil Nadu politics and that is why people like us are drawn to Kamal Ji’s party. If we take the United Kingdom or the United States, the livelihood of a man in a village and the city will be at the same level. But here, especially in Tamil Nadu, there is a great divide between rural and urban sectors. We can bring change only if there is an innovative leader. The potential of our youth is world class. We have to compare the potential we have with what we have achieved. So many things that are too complicated can be simplified with the right governance and technology and MNM is able to do it, ”said Santhosh.

MNM leader Haasan, who addressed various other issues during the press meeting, said he would seek the support of actor Rajinikanth before the election campaign. Responding to a question about Rajinikanth’s political entry, Haasan said: “My first priority will be the health of my friend Rajini, I have more interest in his health than in his politics. During our time in the film industry, we have been competitors but there was no jealousy. Even in politics, it will be the same ”.

Commenting on the farmers’ protest nationwide, Haasan said that the NDA government’s handling of the issue is like playing the violin when Rome was on fire. “Whatever government, they should not take this lightly. They must put aside their agenda and address this very important topic. All he (Modi) needs to do is explore and look at my farmers. Have a dialogue, a long time ago. I’m not saying please, I’m saying you should have a dialogue. It is important to the nation, ”Haasan said.
