New Delhi:
Former trade union minister in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, Mansukh Bhai Vasava, has withdrawn his resignation from the BJP just a day after sending it. The six-time Bharuch MP from Gujarat met yesterday with BJP State President CR Patil and Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today. Sources said he was resentful of certain issues that have been addressed.
By submitting his resignation yesterday, Vasava had said that he would resign from Lok Sabha during the budget session of parliament.
In a letter to the BJP state president, CR Patil, Vasava had said: “I have been loyal to the party. I have taken care of the party’s values. However, after all, I am a human being. A man knowingly makes mistakes. or without knowing it. ” . I resign from the party so that my mistake will not cause damage to the party. “
“During the Budget session, I will meet with the Speaker in person and deliver my resignation from Lok Sabha membership. Please convey this decision to central leadership,” he further wrote.
It was speculated that Vasava’s move could be a pressure tactic.
There have been reports that the 56-year-old has been upset by the party’s lack of response on the issues he has been pointing to. He has also been critical of the functioning of the state BJP.
Lately, Vasava has raised several issues related to her constituency.
Last week, Vasava had written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the withdrawal of a notification from the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change that declared 121 villages in the Narmada district as an eco-sensitive area.
BJP state spokesman Bharat Pandya said the party received the resignation letter via social media, the Press Trust of India news agency reported. “Patil has spoken with him and has assured him that any problem he has will be solved. Vasava is a senior deputy from Gujarat and we will solve all his problems,” said the PTI.
