Former Chhattisgarh Prime Minister Ajit Jogi suffered cardiac arrest on Saturday and was rushed to a private hospital in Raipur where he was placed on ventilator support.
The hospital released a statement in the afternoon and said the senior politician has recovered his pulse and that his ECG is also normal.
The doctor confirmed that Jogi had suffered cardiac arrest.
His wife Renu Jogi and son Amit were present at the hospital.
Amit Jogi, the son of the former prime minister of Chhattisgarh, told mediators that doctors had kept his father under observation for 48 hours.
“We will decide to move my father to another place only after the advice of the doctors,” said Amit Jogi.
Chhattisgarh’s Prime Minister Bhupesh Baghel and other high-ranking politicians in the state called Jogi’s family and asked about the 74-year-old leader’s health.
Jogi was rushed to a private hospital on Saturday morning after his condition worsened after suffering cardiac arrest at his residence. His condition remained critical for several hours, sources told News18.
