The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said today that they have registered a case against six defendants and arrested two, including a former CBI official, in a 25 rupee bribery case.
In a statement, the CBI said, the defendants were found in a conspiracy to influence the ongoing investigation of a case and that there was a 50 lakh rupee claim from the defendant’s company through a certified public accountant (CA ) to influence the ongoing investigation. of a case in favor of said company.
In a trap set by the CBI, the CA and the former official were arrested for allegedly exchanging 25 lakh rupees with each other on behalf of the company. The alleged bribery money was recovered from the former official’s residence.
Eight locations were searched, including Delhi and Ranchi. The defendants’ premises were searched, allowing the recovery of incriminating documents and cash.
Both detainees were presented to the Special Judge, Delhi, on Saturday and were taken into police custody until October 9, according to the CBI statement.
