HYDERABAD: In a serious accident at Wipro Circle in Gachibowli in the Hyderabad IT corridor, five young people traveling in a car were killed when a high-speed tipper collided with their vehicle in the early hours of Sunday.
The accident occurred when the car jumped a red signal and the dump truck coming from the opposite direction collided with it, police said. All five people in the car were seriously injured in the accident. Four of them died on the spot and another person died in treatment.
The victims are identified as Katragadda Santosh (25), a technician working with Tech Mahindra,
Chinta Manohar (23), animation designer, Kolluru Pavan Kumar (24) and Nagisetty Roshan (23), both working for private companies, and Pappu Bhardwaj (20). The victims are from different parts of Andhra Pradesh and are staying at the Maruthi Mens shelter at the Ayyappa Society in Madhapur, police said.

Around 2.48 am, the speedy Maruthi AP 39 ED 5229 car was coming from the IIIT junction. Meanwhile, the dump truck TS 05 UB 2451 from Kokapet crashed into the car at the junction. The dump truck driver suffered minor injuries in the incident.
Gachibowli Police registered a case and began the investigation.
