Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with fitness experts and influencers from across the country to mark the first anniversary of the Fit India Movement on Thursday.
PM Modi launched the ‘Fit India Age Appropriate Fitness Protocols’ during the Fit India Online Dialogue.
Cricketer Virat Kohli, model, actor and runner Milind Soman, and nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar were among the fitness influencers participating in the event.
Paralympic javelin gold medalist Devendra Jhajharia and Jammu and Kashmir footballer Afshan Ashiq were the first to speak at the event.
Jhajharia stressed the importance of not giving up in the face of difficulties, and Ashiq said she ensured her fitness by getting up early and exercising to become an inspiration to every woman in the country.
Milind Soman said that walking hundreds of kilometers was not a difficult task if one had the mental strength to do it. “Fitness knows no limits,” he said.
“It doesn’t take a lot of space or a gym to get in shape. They can get in shape without supplements and energy drinks, ”he said.
Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar said we should stick to simple food. “We must not lose health, but weight. We should eat homemade food and avoid packaged ones. This is the secret of good health, ”he said.
Swami Shivadhyanam Saraswati, also among the speakers, highlighted the importance of yoga and discipline. She spoke about the concept of ‘yoga capsule’, which has ‘mantra’, ‘aasan’, ‘pranayaam’, ‘chitrikaran’ and ‘dhyaan’ as components.
Cricketer Virat Kohli said that fitness should be his priority. “Even if you miss practice for a day, I make sure I don’t skip my workout on any day,” Kohli said.
