New Delhi: Congressional leader Udit Raj on Friday criticized the investigation ordered in the phone call of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, allegedly trying to persuade a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from the government of the NDA in Bihar and alleged manipulation in the Assembly Polls recently concluded in the state.

The congressional leader said to first check the details of the call of all the district magistrates (DM) and police superintendents (SP) delegated in the electoral duty of Bihar to verify who the election results were changed to. “First, the details of the call from DM and SP should be verified on the counting day of the Bihar elections to find out who the result was changed to. Then we will talk about the call from Lalu,” Udit Raj said in a tweet ( roughly translated from Hindi).

The alleged call was made by Prasad on Tuesday and in the audio clip that was shared by Bihar BJP senior leader Sushil Kumar Modi on his Twitter account, he can be heard asking Paswan to “be absent, saying that you have afflicted yourself with a crown. “

On Wednesday, the Jharkhand government ordered an investigation into the allegation that Prasad, in violation of the jail manual, telephoned Bihar BJP MLA Lalan Kumar Paswan, asking him to abstain from voting during the president’s election.

Lalu moved to Ranchi hospital

The jailed RJD chief was transferred from the Ranchi hospital director’s bungalow to his pay room on Thursday after the alleged audio clip was leaked. Prasad, the former chief minister of Bihar who was convicted in fodder scam cases, was receiving treatment at the Rajendra Institute for Medical Sciences (RIMS) for multiple ailments.

“Lalu Prasad Yadav was transferred from the director’s bungalow to room number A-11 of the pay room today,” the PTI news agency said, citing Dr. Waghmare Krishna Prasad, additional director of RIMS and joint health secretary of Jharkhand.

The audio clip of the alleged call was shared by the senior leader of the Bihar BJP, Sushil Kumar Modi, on his Twitter account. He could be heard asking Paswan to “go away, saying that you have been affected by the crown.”
