According to the municipal corporation, all the victims are between 60 and 70 years old. The state government ordered an investigation.

Speaking to TOI, Rajkot Municipal Commissioner Udit Agarwal said: “There were a total of seven people admitted to the ICU, of which three people died at the scene, the other people were rescued, but two were critical and were they slipped away while being transferred to another hospital.
It’s a three-story hospital and the ICU was on the first floor. There were a total of 33 people admitted to this Covid hospital, of which 30 people were rescued by the fire department. However, two of them died and one was injured whose condition is stable. The rest of them are transferred to other private hospitals.
“We have ordered a probe in the incident, the hospital had all the fire suppression systems in place and the staff was trained by us. but somehow they couldn’t use the system in a panic. ”Agarwal added.
Fire Chief BJ Theba said: “We controlled the fire in half an hour at night. The private hospital ambulance, the fire department ambulance and 108 ambulances were in charge of transferring the patients. ”
The fire is believed to have occurred due to a short circuit.
