Filming of Annaatthe of superstar Rajinikanth has been suspended after four crew members tested positive for coronavirus during routine tests. Sun Pictures, the production company behind Annaatthe, took to Twitter to confirm the news. The production house added that Rajinikanth and other crew members tested negative for COVID-19.

Sun Pictures shared a statement on Twitter. It read: “During routine tests at #Annaathe shoot, 4 crew members tested positive for Covid19. Superstar @rajinikanth and other crew members tested negative. To ensure maximum security, #Annaat, the shooting has been postponed. “

The Annaatthe shooting, which was hampered by the coronavirus-induced lockdown, resumed in the second week of December. Production started in Hyderabad, with Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and others.

Rajinikanth had taken a chartered flight to Hyderabad together with his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush.

Production is in its last stage and the filmmakers had planned to finish it in a single section. Written and directed by Siva, Annaatthe boasts an all-star supporting cast that includes Khushbu, Meena, Prakash Raj, Sathish, and Soori.
