Fed up with his pet dog, the Kerala man ties him to a car, crawls 2 Kms; Video triggers outrage


Shocking video has emerged from Kerala, showing a dog being dragged down the road from a moving car.

The incident occurred on Friday on Paravoor-Nedymbassery Road in the Ernakulam district.

In the video, filmed by a person traveling in a two-wheeler, the dog that was tied behind the car can be seen trying to run behind the vehicle for a while and after he couldn’t keep up, the poor animal was swept up the road.

According to local media, unspeakable cruelty was inflicted by the dog’s owner, Yousuf, who was fed up with his pet.

The two-wheeled passenger, identified as Akhil, who made the video, also confronted Yousuf, who responded that it was none of his business. and supposedly yelled, “What’s your problem if the dog dies.”

“It was a gruesome scene. A rope was tied around the dog’s neck and he was brutally dragged down the road,” he told PTI.

The shocking video also showed a stray dog, who was on the roadside trying to run after the car, in an apparent effort to save the poor animal.

After the video went viral, the dog’s owner, who had left him in the gutter after the confrontation, was arrested.

When the video went viral, Daya, an animal welfare organization in Kochi, tracked down the dog, which by then was in bad shape.

According to members of Daya, the dog had sustained serious injuries and the skin on its paw had peeled off, exposing the bones.

They also said that the stray dog ​​that tried to chase the car has also been rescued and both are currently in their rehab center.

The Kerala Department of Motor Vehicles said that a case against Yousuf has been registered in the relevant sections and they have recommended the cancellation of his license.
