Farooq Abdullah Never Said Article 370 Will Be Restored With China’s Help, National Conference Clarifies

The National Conference (NC) has dismissed reports that its sponsor Farooq Abdullah said that Article 370 of the Constitution will be restored in the Kashmir Valley with help from China. Abdullah made the remarks during a television interview.

The NC said its leader’s comments were skewed. He said Abdullah never justified expansionist or aggressive intent, which is claimed by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“Our employer was highlighting people’s anger at the repeal of Section 370 last year. He’s been doing it for the past month. He said that no one is willing to accept these changes in Jammu and Kashmir, ”said a North Carolina spokesman, according to the Hindustan Times Hindi publication Hindustan.

“Our leader never said that Article 370 would be restored with the help of China, which was demanded by BJP leader Shambit Patra at a press conference. He also submitted some previous statements by Mr. Farooq Abdullah incorrectly, ”Hindustan quoted the spokesperson as saying.

Abdullah said in a television interview on Sunday that he wanted, with China’s support, Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave Jammu and Kashmir special status, be restored.

In the interview, Abdullah pointed out that China was not happy with the repeal of Article 370, which was scrapped in August last year by Parliament.

“As far as China is concerned, I did not bring the Chinese president here. Our prime minister invited him to Gujarat and even did jhoola sawari with him. He [PM Modi] He even took him to Chennai and I ate food with him, ”he had said.

The former prime minister of J&K said China “never accepted” the cancellation of Article 370. “They said that until they restore Article 370, we will not stop because now it has become an open issue,” he said.

“May Allah wish that our people receive help from his power and our articles 370 and 35-A be restored,” Abdullah said.

The BJP called the comments “seditious.” “It is sad as well as worrying. A sitting deputy is using those words for the country. He thinks that China’s aggression is due to the repeal of Article 370. He categorically asserts that since the Parliament of India repealed Article 370, China is disturbed and therefore China’s aggression is justified. It seems to justify China’s expansionary tendencies, ”BJP leader Sambit Patra said on Monday.
