Attacking Pakistan for praising recent joint statement from the main political parties of Kashmir In pledging to fight for the restoration of articles 370, the president of the National Conference (NC), Farooq Abdullah, said on Sunday “we are not anyone’s puppets”.
“Pakistan has always abused the main political parties in Jammu and Kashmir, but now all of a sudden they like us. Let me clarify that we are not anyone’s puppets, not from New Delhi or from anyone on the other side of the border. We are accountable to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and we will work for them, ”PTI quoted Abdullah.
Abdullah’s reply comes days after Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said the statement issued by the NC, PDP, Congress and three other parts was “not an ordinary event but an important event.”
Last week, in a statement signed by Farooq Abdullah, PDP head Mehbooba Mufti, who remains in detention, People’s Conference President Sajad Lone, Head of State Congress GA Mir, CPM leader MY Tarigami and Muzaffar Shah of the J&K Awami National Conference, the parties resolved to fight for the restoration of J & K’s special status and promised to adhere to the ‘Gupkar Declaration’.
The Gupkar Declaration, a unanimous resolution promising to “defend the identity, autonomy and special status of Jammu and Kashmir”, was approved by the main parties after a meeting at Abdullah’s residence on Gupkar Road on August 4, hours before the repeal of the J&K special program. state.
“We are committed to fighting for the restoration of sections 370 and 35A, the J&K constitution and the restoration of the state, and any division of the state is unacceptable to us. We unanimously reiterate that there can be nothing about us without us, ”said the leaders.
On cross-border terrorism, Abdullah urged Pakistan to stop sending gunmen to Kashmir. “We want to end the bloodshed in our state. All the political parties in Jammu and Kashmir are committed to peacefully fighting for our rights, including for what was unconstitutionally taken from us on August 5 last year, ”he said.
At the same time, the North Carolina leader urged India and Pakistan to resume their dialogue “for the good of all.” “Our people are being killed on both sides of the Line of Control every time there are violations of the ceasefire. For the love of God, stop that, ”he said.
