Authorities said Thursday that Delhi metro services from neighboring cities to the state would remain suspended on Friday due to the ‘Delhi Chalo’ protest march organized by farmers against the central government’s agricultural laws, according to the PTI news agency.
However, they noted that the metro would be available from Delhi to sections of the National Capital Region (NCR).
“Update for tomorrow (Friday). As reported by the Delhi Police, metro services will be available only from Delhi to the NCR sections. However, services from NCR stations to Delhi will not be available for security reasons until further notice. ”Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) tweeted.
Previously, restrictions on subway cars going from Delhi to NCR were lifted after 2pm, while incoming trains remained suspended.

Thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana continued to flock to Delhi to protest against the new agricultural reforms introduced by the Center in September. Strong security measures were deployed on the Rohtak-Jhajjar border, the Singhu border and various areas.
Previously, police officers used water cannons and tear gas projectiles to disperse protesting farmers as they tried to break through the barricades at the Sadopur border in Ambala. A similar situation was observed on the Shambhu border between Punjab and Haryana.
Meanwhile, long traffic jams were observed at the Singhu, Delhi-Gurugram and Kalindi Kunj border near the Delhi-Noida border due to security checks as the protests took a violent turn.

Gaurav Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North), Delhi told ANI news agency that no group of farmers was moving into Delhi at this time adding that staff were on high alert and all vehicles were being searched. To ensure that no farmer enters the national capital. .
