The head of the Bhartiya Kisan Union, Balbir S Rajewal, said on Friday that farmers will protest in front of the houses of BJP leaders and block large corporations and national retailers, including the toll plazas of Reliance Industries and Adani Enterprises.
Hours earlier, the Bharatiya Kisan Union had the Supreme Court challenge the three agricultural laws. He claimed the laws will make farmers “vulnerable to corporate greed.”
The Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said the proposal sent to the farmers on changes to the laws was still with them, adding that the protesters did not respond or inform the government of their rejection.
Hundreds of thousands of farmers, mostly from Punjab and Haryana, have been camping along Delhi’s borders for more than 15 days, saying they will not leave until the government repeals what they called the “black laws.” The Center has tried to allay the fears in several rounds of talks, but has refused to repeal the legislation.
