The 21st day of the ongoing protest by farmers demanding the repeal of farm laws saw a crucial development as the Supreme Court has now intervened. While the protesters are determined that talks with the Center will continue only when the Center agrees to withdraw the laws, the Center also maintained its position that protesting farmers are deceived.
This is what happened on the day:
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court indicated that it could form a committee to resolve the deadlock.
> The Supreme Court noted that the road blockade issue could soon become a national problem.
> He also noted that the Center’s negotiations have not worked properly and are destined to fail.

> The new committee will include members of farmers’ organizations and government representatives. Members of other farmers’ organizations, from the rest of India, will also be part of it.
> When the road blockade by farmers was compared to that of Shaheen Bagh, the high court said there can be no precedent in a matter of public order.
What the Center said
> When asking the Center for the names of the unions blocking the roads, he said it can give the names of the organizations that are in talks with the Center.
> The government will not do anything that is against the interests of farmers, the law enforcement official said during the hearing.
> The state trade union trade minister Som Prakash welcomed the higher court’s decision and said the Center wants to solve the farmers’ problem quickly. “The farmers and the government will express their views in the committee, which is good. Whatever the final decision SC makes tomorrow on the matter, we will act accordingly, ”said the minister.
