Farmers protest: DMRC closes 6 metro stations on the Green Line


The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation closed the entry and exit gates of six metro stations on Friday: Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Bahadurgarh City, Pandit Shree Ram Sharma, Tikri Border, Tikri Kalan and Ghevra stations on the Green Line as Farmer-led protests intensified.

“The entry and exit gates of Brigadier Hoshiar Singh, Bahadurgarh City, Pandit Shree Ram Sharma, Tikri Border, Tikri Kalan and Ghevra stations on the Green Line are now closed,” the DMRC tweeted.

Anticipating the uproar, metro officials had announced restricted services for commuters between Delhi and adjacent areas like Noida.

“As reported by the Delhi Police, the metro services will be available only from Delhi to the NCR sections. However, services from NCR stations to Delhi will not be available for security reasons until further notice. However, the metro services will be available from Delhi to the NCR sections, ”DMRC had said.

Thousands of farmers from Punjab and Haryana are heading to the national capital on Friday with their echoes of the repeal of three increasingly strong farm laws enacted by Parliament in September. Thursday witnessed high-voltage clashes between police personnel and protesting farmers forcing their way into adjacent areas of Delhi such as Panipat, Sirsa, Kurukshetra, Fatehabad and Jind.
