“All the farmers’ union leaders have rejected the government’s offer of amendments to the laws and now we want the government to repeal these laws and also enact a law to guarantee the harvest of the 26 crops with a minimum price support,” said the President of Haryana BKU, Gurnam. Charuni is the only peasant leader in Haryana among the peasant leaders who held talks with the government on behalf of the farmers.

He said that during meetings with the Union government, they already made it clear that the agitation will continue until the government withdraws the “anti-farmer” laws.

Meanwhile, the number of farmers on Delhi’s Singhu and Tikri borders is likely to increase in the coming days as more farmers leave for Delhi to join the protests.

Farmers ‘march to Delhi accelerated on Wednesday after it emerged that farmers’ leaders rejected the government’s offer of amendments to farm laws.
