Speaking at Rajya Sabha minutes before 9:30 am, opposition leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said: “There is a proverb in English: the straw that broke the camel’s back. I think the day before yesterday was the final straw … Today, bills are not sent to the permanent and select committees … They try to pass all bills. Why did the fight take place? It shouldn’t have happened. I don’t approve of (members) breaking microphones and getting on tables. No one approves of it. But, as I said, it was the height of the camel’s back. It was building up … and when it broke, it became a storm, ”he said.
Most of the opposition members left with him. Among those who remained in the Chamber were the Samajwadi Party (SP), DMK, NCP and TRS, but they also left later.
