New Delhi:
Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer Vikas Singh said on Saturday that doctors cannot share confidential patient information without the consent of their legal heirs.
He also said that any doctor who claims to have treated Sushant should discuss his medical history with the family first.
“I have seen a disturbing trend that Sushant’s alleged doctors are talking about his mental health on the news channels,” Singh told reporters.
“According to the professional rules of MCI, no doctor can share confidential information related to his patient. Since Sushant no longer exists, it can only be done with the permission of his legal heir, that is, his father,” he said.
The lawyer also refuted claims by some that Sushant’s mother’s mental health was not correct and clarified that she died of a brain hemorrhage.
On the subject of the arrest of Showik Chakraborty, brother of main defendant Rhea, and Samuel Miranda in connection with the drug investigation linked to the actor’s death by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Singh said there was something very important that Mumbai police wanted to hide and the picture would become clearer as the CBI investigation progresses.
On Friday, the NCB arrested Showik and Samuel in connection with the drug investigation related to the Rajput’s death.
The actor was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai suburban Bandra on June 14.
