Last week, the National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results of the NEET (UG) 2020 exam. Soyeb Aftab from Odisha scored a perfect 720/720 and was ranked the best.
Following this, a message began to circulate on social media platforms that the top five ranked in the exam are Muslims.
According to the message posted by the Andhra Muslims Facebook page, the top five finishers are Soyeb Aftab, Zeeshan Ashraf, Yasir Hameed, Sajid Mehmood and Sana Mir. The implication (based on the names) is that the first five ranks were Muslim.
The message circulated on both Facebook and Twitter.

Although both Akanksha and Aftab scored 720 out of 720, using the tiebreaker formula, Akanksha came in second.
Under the tiebreaker policy, if two students earn the same grades, the rank is assessed based on their age. The older candidate gets the preference.
Akanksha is 17 and Aftab 18. Therefore, Akanksha, despite scoring the same as Aftab, ranked below him.
