Facebook has just announced the launch of Messenger Kids in India. The app launched in the United States in December 2017, and finally made its way to India. As the name implies, the application is specifically designed for children under the age of 13. The app is now available in more than 70 countries worldwide, including Australia, Brazil, Colombia, India, Indonesia, and more.
The Messenger Kids application was created with the aim of expanding the company’s reach among young users. To ensure security, the social media giant has added additional parental controls.
With the new Messenger Kids app, Facebook has also brought the option to allow their teachers and coaches to add children to a group. As part of parental control, the social media company also makes sure that parents have to approve adults to connect their children to a group.
Facebook’s Messenger Kids app also offers an option for kids that allows them to easily find and connect with friends. In addition, parents will have control over the visibility of their child’s profile photo, as well as the name in the application.
With such features, the app ignores most of the concerns parents would have when introducing their children to the world of the Internet and social media. Furthermore, the application will allow children to connect with their friends and teachers at the time of COVID-19 blocking.
The Messenger Kids app will soon be available in India through the Google Play Store and Apple App Store for Android and iOS users, respectively.
