Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said he is distressed by the loss of life in the Maharashtra train accident in which 16 people died.

The accident occurred after a freight train ran over them near the Karmad railway station in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra on Friday morning. While 16 people died, five others were injured.
“So far, 16 people have died in the incident, while one is seriously injured. The other four who survived the incident are being counseled so that we can obtain more information about the accident, “said Aurangabad Police Superintendent Mokshada Patil.
