“The State Government is satisfied that the State of Maharashtra is threatened with the spread of the COVID-I9 virus and therefore to take certain emergency measures to prevent and contain the spread of the virus, the Government in exercising The powers conferred in Section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act of 1897, read with all the other enabling provisions of the Disaster Management Act of 2005, it is desirable to extend the blockade throughout the state of Maharashtra until midnight on 31st December 2020, “the government notification said.
“All government departments will strictly enforce these guidelines.”
However, activities that are already allowed and permitted from time to time will continue.
“All previous orders will align with this order and will remain in effect until December 2020.”
By easing various restrictions as part of the ‘Mission Start Over’, the government has allowed all major activities.
Earlier this week, the government allowed places of worship to reopen.
Hotels and bars, gyms have already been allowed to reopen.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s COVID-19 case count reached 18,08,550, as 6,185 new infections were recorded. The state also reported 85 deaths during the day, bringing the death toll from COVID-19 to 46,898.
