Ever since news of his ill health broke, Bollywood celebrities have been praying for the cricket legend and wishing him a speedy recovery. Filmmaker Kabir Khan, who is set to release a film about the life of Kapil Dev, told ETimes, “Kapil Sir is the heart and soul of Indian cricket. This was just a minor setback. Knowing him, he will soon play on a golf course ”.
According to a PTI report, Kapil Dev suffered a heart attack. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of the night.
Earlier today, the hospital issued an official statement that read: “Cricketer Kapil Dev arrived at the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute (Okhla Road) emergency department at 1:00 am on October 23 with a complaint of pain in the chest. He was evaluated and an emergency coronary angioplasty was performed in the middle of the night. Currently, he is admitted to the ICU and under the close supervision of Dr. Atul Mathur and his team. Kapil Dev is stable now and is expected to be discharged in a couple of days. ”
