EXCLUSIVE: Dimple Kapadia Has Hilarious Reaction To Her Character’s Shocking Fate In Christopher Nolan’s Beginning
BeginningChristopher Nolan’s last performance was a huge talking point in 2020 as it was among the most anticipated movies of the year. Starring an eclectic cast with John David Washington, Robert Pattinson, Elizabeth Debicki, Kenneth Branagh and our own Dimple Kapadia, Nolan is once again playing Russian roulette with “time” as the key element. Finally, Beginning hit theaters in India on December 4.
* SPOILER ALERT * Between the many twists and turns in Christopher’s thrilling action and sci-fi roller coaster, an important moment occurs in the ending sequence of Beginning when The Protagonist (Washington) kills Priya (Kapadia), who is actually part of the Tenet organization and the former is revealed to be its actual founder. During an EXCLUSIVE interview with Pinkvilla, we couldn’t help but ask Dimple what his reaction was when he first read his last sequence in the script. “I didn’t understand anything. I was like, ‘Why is he killing her? Why is he killing her?’ He couldn’t understand that. “I mean she’s on his side! Why is he killing her? ” [laughs]”the veteran actress joked.
Eventually, however, the 63-year-old actress understood why it happened when she shared, “Thank goodness that was the last sequence I shot and I finally understood why it’s killing me because that was a mystery to me. His [Nolan] movies are like that. I read the script, I acted in it, I saw the movie. But still, I’ve missed a lot of scenes in the sense that every time you watch his movies, you discover something new. Something you didn’t see before or something you missed. “
“That’s his USP because you have to watch his movies a couple of times to understand what he’s saying and review the details of the movie that we, you missed the first time because they’re so subtle,” concluded Kapadia.
