After dropping Quinton de Kock earlier to give away a six, Manish Pandey made a huge comeback by taking a blinding boundary rope to fire Ishan Kishan in top form at the Sandeep Sharma bowling alley. De Kock was playing at 22 when Manish threw him against the ropes of Abdul Samad’s bowling alley.
Manish Pandey hasn’t had the best of IPLs thus far, as he didn’t make any crucial bat contribution for the Hyderabad-based franchise, making just 117 runs in four innings. Although he made a 51, the innings were rather in favor of the Kolkata Knight Riders, as he was unable to up the ante when necessary and came out when his team needed him most.
In this match too, he made a mess of a catch on Abdul Samad’s bowling alley in the seventh, which should have been taken, given current fielding standards, but the Karnataka batsman stopped him over the ropes, giving Quinton de Kock another shot along with a six. The South African made the most of the opportunity by scoring SRH bowlers for another 45 runs, eventually coming out with a score of 67.
However, Pandey made the best possible comeback by catching a rope trap at Sandeep Sharma’s bowling alley in the 16th over. Sandeep threw a faster pitch that was hit by Ishan Kishan to the long limit, without taking much lift. Manish took the opportunity to catch the ball as he dived for the ball, taking the two-handed catch, making sure the ball didn’t go out. Ultimately, Kishan was fired with 31 of 23 balls.
