“Even a Little Negligence Can Bring Us Pain”: Prime Minister Modi Urges People to Follow Covid Rules in the Holiday Season | India News

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said Tuesday that the lockdown may have ended, but the coronavirus still exists, urging people not to lower their guard until the country receives a vaccine.
In his seventh address to the nation following the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Modi said: “We cannot afford to be careless until we achieve ultimate success in the fight against coronavirus.”
“It is a time of festivals and a period of happiness; even a little negligence can bring us pain,” said Prime Minister Modi.
“If you are careless and you move without a mask, you are putting yourself, the children, the elderly at risk,” he added.
Prime Minister Modi said that many videos have emerged in recent times showing that many people have stopped taking precautions. “This is not the right thing to do,” he said.
The prime minister also announced that the government was working on a detailed distribution plan to ensure that all Indians receive the vaccine.
In Europe, the United States and other countries, the number of cases has seen an increase once again after seeing a decrease in the past, the prime minister noted.
“We must continue to be careful and not be insensitive until a vaccine is found,” said PM Modi.
