New Delhi, May 7: The Indian Navy has its ships to evacuate the stranded Indians abroad.

The Indian Army, on the other hand, has prepared quarantine facilities to assist in the evacuation of Indian citizens.

Naval ships carry food grains, medical equipment, and medicines. India today launched a mass evacuation operation to bring stranded Indians back to different parts of the world. The first flight took off from Kerala, while INS Jalashwa entered the port of Male.

Air India will operate special flights from New Delhi, Cochin and Kozhikode to Singapore, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, respectively.

Flights under the Vande Bharat Mission begin today. 2,300 passengers will be brought back today, a statement from the Press Information Office said. The largest number of passengers-300 will return from the United States. 250 each are returned from the UK, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines, while 200 each from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and Dhaka are also returned.

GDP said in a tweet that it said that in total 14,800 stranded passengers will be returned. Air India follows standard operating procedures that were released on Tuesday.
