Preliminary UPSC CSE 2021: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published the notice for the Civil Service Preliminary Exam (CSE) 2021. The registration process was opened as of March 4 and candidates can apply until March 24 at via the website: upsc.gov.in. or upsconline.nic.in.
The preliminary examination will be held on June 27. The number of vacancies to be filled through the exam is approximately
712 positions.
Eligibility criteria: The candidate must be an Indian citizen for IAS and IPS positions. For others, they may be citizens of India, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibetan refugees. See more in the official notification.
Age limit: A candidate must have reached the age of 21 and must not have reached the age of 32. There is old relaxation for the reserved category.

Educational qualification: The candidate must have a degree from universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an act of parliament or declared as a university under Section 3 of the Scholarship Commission Act Universities of 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
Paper pattern: The preliminary test consists of paper-I and II. In the objective type, multiple-choice questions are asked that have a total of 400 points. On the General Studies document – II, a candidate must score with a minimum of 33 percent grades.

The negative score for each question is one-third of the score assigned to that question. The questions on the paper come from seven different test areas such as 1) Science and technology, 2) History and culture, 3) Geography, 4) Indian politics, 5) Indian economy, 6) Environment and ecology and 7) Events current of national and international importance.
