NEW DELHI: The BSNL Employees Union (BSNLEU) has alleged that the state telecommunications company has repeatedly failed to pay salaries to employees on time, and also highlighted the apathy of management towards employees of the telecommunications company.

He added that BSNL has yet to pay out employee salary for the month of November 2020.

“It pains the union a lot to see that management has waived its responsibility to disburse wages to employees in accordance with existing terms and conditions, that is, on the last business day of each month. In addition, it is also forcing employees to take to the streets and demonstrate every month to receive their salary, “the group said in an official statement.

He reiterated that he has been writing to BSNL CMD regarding employee concerns. However, he alleged that there has still been no truce.

“In all letters, BSNLEU has demanded that the salary be disbursed on the last working day of the month. It is disturbing to note that the management has not cared at all about all these letters and the allegations of the Union have fallen on deaf ears, “he added.

The group has demanded the punctual payment of the salary for the month of November and December as well, in view of the new year. He reasoned that the administration “cannot take refuge” citing the economic difficulties that arose due to the Covid pandemic, as business activities have mainly resumed throughout the country.
