Animal Crossing: New Horizons It has given us so much to enjoy in what may be the strangest moment of our lives, and it continues to deliver. This time in the form of Hollywood star and turnip dealer, Elijah Wood, who visited an island of fans to make the most of his high turnip prices.
guys i tweeted my turnip prices and Elijah Wood just came to my island and hanging out pasar this is the best quarantined day yet pic.twitter.com/H3mYJWnvgRApril 23, 2020
Twitter user Jessa (alias @directedbyrian, as in Rian Johnson), he shared some favorable turnip prices on his timeline: 599 bells per pop, to be precise. Shortly after she tweeted about astronomical pricing, Elijah Wood slipped into his DMs, requesting his Dodo Code so that he could pass. What follows is possibly the purest thing I have ever seen.
Elijah Wood in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is precisely how I imagine Elijah Wood to be IRL. Not only has he created a character that looks just like him, with cropped dark brown hair, big blue eyes, and an understated (but cool) outfit, he’s incredibly polite. So polite, he asks “Can I pick some fruit” instead of rudely shaking all of Jessa’s trees, and he makes a point to congratulate the island by simply saying “Your island is beautiful”. Wood also entered the island and immediately proclaimed “Viva Rian Johnson”, with which I think we can all agree.
I am honestly stunned. To be graced with the presence of Frodo Baggins himself only for the good fortune that generated the astronomical prices of the turnip? It is magical, there is no other way to describe it. Hopefully we will learn more about Elijah Wood’s Animal Crossing experience in the near future – I’m particularly interested in seeing how he decided to design his island and get some details on his perennial preferences (I feel like he’s a lily boy). If Mr. Wood decides to remain silent regarding his Animal Crossing experience, then I will say this: “Okay then. Keep your secrets.”
If the possibility that Elijah freakin ‘Wood visits your island has piqued your interest, check out our Animal Crossing: New Horizons advice.
