In a U-turn, the BMC had ordered everything non-essential stores and liquor stores in the city to close again on Tuesday, two days after the state government issued orders stating they may reopen.
Pardeshi canceled the orders stating that allowing non-essential stores and liquor stores to remain open would cause the city to lose the benefits accrued during the emergency shutdown period.
He said the relaxation notice issued by the state government would lead to deteriorating conditions.
